PORTLAND, OR – August 1, 2010 – Peterson CAT, the authorized Caterpillar dealer in western Oregon and southern Washington, is pleased to announce that Bill Bean and Bryan Barnes, both members of the company’s southern management team, have been promoted to General Manager of Southern Operations and Regional Sales Manager, respectively.
Jeff Goggin, President of Peterson CAT, announced the changes on August 1st, and stated that they were implemented to continue providing the company’s customers with the top-notch service they have come to expect following Peterson’s recent purchase of Halton Co., former Caterpillar dealer in northern Oregon and southwest Washington. “In order to maintain proper coverage of our southern Oregon territory, we have established Bill Bean and Bryan Barnes in geographically-focused management positions in Eugene, convenient to our customers’ operations throughout the southern portion of the state,” Goggin said.
As General Manager of Southern Operations, Bill Bean—former manager of Peterson CAT’s Eugene and Redmond stores—will have total responsibility for the company’s product support operations and facilities in Eugene, Albany, Redmond, Roseburg, North Bend, Klamath Falls, and Medford. A Klamath Falls native, Bean has worked for Peterson in various sales and operations positions for 27 years, with time spent in the company’s earthmoving and power divisions. Bean holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University.
As Regional Sales Manager, Bryan Barnes will have earthmoving sales responsibility for Peterson CAT’s southern territory, and will be tasked with continuing the pattern of growth and market dominance he established in his previous role as Sales Manager for Peterson CAT. Barnes has been with the company since 2003, and has over twenty years of additional equipment sales experience in the Northwest.
Peterson has been a family-owned Caterpillar dealer for over seventy years. The Peterson family of companies—Peterson Holding, Peterson Tractor, Peterson Power Systems, Cresco, Peterson Machinery, and SiTech—serve over one hundred thousand square miles of the American West with an expansive line of equipment: Caterpillar machinery, agricultural equipment, rental equipment, portable and stationary diesel-powered generators, natural gas turbines, air compressors, and advanced equipment guidance systems.
