Peterson Machinery — The Cat Rental Store Goes Green with Biodiesel

Peterson Machinery Co., the authorized Caterpillar dealership for central and southern Oregon, is pleased to announce that the dealership’s rental operation, The Cat Rental Store (CRS) in Springfield has switched to using biodiesel in its delivery vehicles. In an effort to introduce more environmentally friendly business practices into the organization, the rental store will use a B20 biodiesel blended fuel.

Rich Bolen, General Manager, Rental Services, estimates that using B20 biodiesel will reduce consumption of off-shore oil by about 1,800 gallons annually per CRS delivery truck. “The fuel is readily available in our service area in Eugene and Springfield. This is a great choice for us and for the environment,” says Bolen.

The delivery vehicles used by the rental store are semi trucks equipped with rear-tilt trailers and are used to transport the heavy machinery such as aerial equipment, light towers, hydraulic excavators, skid steer loaders, and other earthmoving equipment rented to customers in the construction, agriculture, landscaping, and manufacturing industries.

Peterson Machinery Co. is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in central and southern Oregon. Headquartered in Eugene, the dealership offers full-service stores in Albany, Eugene, Klamath Falls, Medford, North Bend, and Redmond. The company’s Springfield location is the home of the Cat Rental Store, renting Caterpillar and other name-brand equipment.
