The new FM cab from CAT is designed to be the ultimate in safety and comfort. In order to achieve these two qualities, CAT had to take the old cab to the drawing board and design an entirely unique cab that far surpasses all standards and expectations.

The most noticeable quality of the new FM Cab is the increase in size and space. The new cab has gained one foot of height and a generous 8 inches of width. This will allow the operator easier and safer access as well as creating a much more comfortable environment while working.

Also new is the increase in window space. The front three sides of the cab have ceiling to floor windows, creating an increase in visibility for the operator. This feature allows the operator to have a greater view of his/her surroundings and therefore creates a safer environment for anyone working in the immediate area.

Possibly the most impressive feature of the new cab is the one structure support system. The old cab has a cage surrounded by a roll bar in case of any contact from outside objects. Unfortunately, the roll bar covers only a small percentage of the cab, protecting the operator from a drastic safety hazard but keeping him susceptible to other more moderate concerns. With the new cab there is one strong structure, capable of resisting any blow. Whether a tree is collapsing on the machine or a piece of debris has some minor contact with the cab, you will be as safe as CAT and Peterson can make you.
