The ability to repair and maintain diesel engines is a coveted skill that is in high demand in today's work environment. If you have experience working with all types of earthmoving equipment, an exciting and challenging career opportunity awaits you at Peterson Cat.

We're currently seeking to hire earthmoving field technicians at multiple locations throughout the Western U.S. Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to provide a valuable service for our customers and make an excellent living in the process.

The Role of the Mobile Earthmoving Technician

As an on-site heavy equipment repair technician, you will travel to our customers' jobsites, facilities, or other remote locations to service equipment like bulldozers, excavators, skid steer loaders, motor graders, and backhoe loaders. While most of the work will involve Cat® equipment, you may also repair earthmoving products from other top manufacturers.

Examples of the daily job functions:

  • Analyze and diagnose equipment issues and determine the appropriate service procedure.

  • Write service reports to accurately list the diagnosis and the recommended services.

  • Repair, rebuild, and replace equipment engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other vital components.

  • Adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure quality work.

  • Perform all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
