The Role of the Mobile Earthmoving Technician

As an on-site heavy equipment repair technician, you will travel to our customers' jobsites, facilities, or other remote locations to service equipment like bulldozers, excavators, skid steer loaders, motor graders, and backhoe loaders. While most of the work will involve Cat® equipment, you may also repair earthmoving products from other top manufacturers. 

Examples of the daily job functions:

  • Analyze and diagnose equipment issues and determine the appropriate service procedure. 

  • Write service reports to accurately list the diagnosis and the recommended services.

  • Repair, rebuild, and replace equipment engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems, and other vital components.

  • Adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure quality work.

  • Perform all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. 

 

About Field Technician Qualifications

We consider candidates for the earthmoving equipment field service position who have at least five years of relevant experience working with machine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs, particularly with Cat products. We also prefer an associate degree in diesel technology or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and on-the-job experience can fulfill these requirements.
