Serving Eugene Since Peterson Came to Oregon
Peterson Cat's history in Eugene dates to 2003, when Peterson became the Caterpillar dealer for southern Oregon. Before the transition was even complete, Peterson ordered 50 new Cat machines so customers would have equipment available from day one. Shortly after Peterson opened its doors, railcars loaded with new Caterpillar equipment lined the railroad spur behind the Eugene store — a dramatic introduction to Oregon's construction community.
Eugene has also remained closely connected to Caterpillar's forestry history. In 2011, the Cat 568 Log Loader debuted at the Oregon Logging Conference in Eugene. The machine incorporated major advances in hydraulic performance, swing torque and fuel efficiency developed for demanding logging applications in the Pacific Northwest.
