Supporting the Ruby Pipeline
The Ruby Pipeline demonstrated the depth of equipment and product support available through Peterson Cat’s Klamath Falls store. Construction of the $3 billion, 680-mile natural gas pipeline brought hundreds of machines into rugged country east of Klamath Falls. Peterson technicians helped support approximately 300 machines working on the two project sections assigned to Rockford Corporation.
Peterson and Cresco supplied 30 haul trucks, 20 excavators, 20 Cat D8T dozers and additional equipment obtained through Peterson’s wider rental network. Dedicated field technicians worked alongside the contractor for nearly two years, maintaining equipment from Peterson and numerous other suppliers. They stocked commonly needed parts on their service trucks, worked seven days a week and followed machines wherever repairs were required—even when Cat dozers had to tow the service trucks through deep mud.
By the middle of the project, Peterson and the contractor were the only organizations still operating service trucks on that portion of the job. Although Klamath Falls was normally Peterson’s smallest store by rental volume, the Ruby Pipeline made it the company’s highest-producing rental location in 2011.
Equipment and Product Support for Klamath Basin Dairies
Peterson Cat helps Klamath Basin dairies select, maintain and repair equipment for demanding daily work. Cat skid steer loaders, compact track loaders and compact wheel loaders can support feeding, manure management, material handling, property maintenance and construction throughout a dairy operation. Our team can also recommend buckets and other attachments based on the required capacity, reach and loading height.
That support is grounded in understanding the complete application—not simply selling another machine. At Bonanza View Dairy and Windy Ridge near Klamath Falls, Peterson evaluated the customer’s workflow and recommended a faster Cat compact wheel loader in place of another skid steer loader for a route exceeding one mile. When new feed trucks required greater loading height, the team helped identify a high-dump bucket that provided the necessary reach. Peterson parts, shop service and field service help keep that equipment working through the dairy’s continuous operating schedule.
